Give This Web Page Some LIFE!

The following links will take you my gruesome attempt in Photoshop and Fireworks. Each theme has a description too to explain a bit what I did since the .psd files are too big to load.
You can also go to the Mike and Brittany page under Bio to see the pictures posted. They are pretty sick, I know!

  • Photoshop Layers

Here I took a beautiful picture of a beach in the Dominican Republic and faded into the back a bit by changing the opacity. I then added a picture of my wife and I and imported the picture as a layer and changed the opacity on that too. I then put a red gradient from the bottom right corner to the center a bit to give the picture some more flavor.

  • Defining Edges and Masks

Here I took my old pup Lady and, using the quick selection tool, I was able to refine the edges around here and use a drop shadow to make it seem like she fell into Homer's vat of toxic waste.

  • Using Smart Filters

By following the directions on the tutorial, I was able to take an engagement picture and use a layer mask and the quick selection tool to change the background behind use. I used the motion blur, find edges, some noise, and added dark strokes. It was really weird to make it.

  • Using Photoshop images in Fireworks

I didn't know any better way to accomplish this tutorial other than follow step by step with their file on how one can take a photopshop file, edit it, and import it into fireworks so that all the edited layers, metadata, and preferences would transfer directly over and be edited in Fireworks. Both are included.
